After an early breakfast, guests are picked up from their hotel in Moshi or Arusha and transferred to Machame Gate, located on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Following registration and final equipment checks, the climb begins through dense montane rainforest rich with birdlife and ancient trees.
The trail is scenic and gently ascending, offering the first true sense of being on Africa’s highest mountain. By late afternoon, climbers arrive at Machame Camp, where tents are set, dinner is served, and the first night on the mountain is spent listening to the sounds of the forest.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp, 6 days Kilimanjaro Climbing Machame route
The day starts with breakfast as the forest gradually gives way to moorland vegetation. The trail becomes steeper, and wide views begin to open across the Shira Plateau and Mount Meru in the distance.
The landscape changes dramatically as giant heathers and volcanic rock dominate the terrain. After a steady climb, the route reaches Shira Camp, situated on a high plateau below Kibo Peak. The afternoon is reserved for rest, acclimatization, and enjoying expansive mountain views as the team prepares for higher altitude.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower, 6 days Kilimanjaro Climbing Machame route
This is a key acclimatization day designed to help the body adapt to altitude. After breakfast, the trail ascends gradually toward the Lava Tower area, reaching a much higher elevation before descending again.
This climb-high, sleep-low approach significantly improves summit success. After lunch near the Lava Tower, the route descends into the scenic Barranco Valley, one of the most beautiful sections of the Machame Route. Arrival at Barranco Camp is in the afternoon, with dramatic views of the Barranco Wall and glaciers above.

The morning begins with the ascent of the famous Barranco Wall, a hands-on but non-technical scramble that rewards climbers with breathtaking views once at the top. The trail continues across ridges and valleys beneath the southern glaciers of Kilimanjaro, passing through Karanga Valley before making the final ascent to Barafu Camp.
This is the base camp for the summit attempt. After an early dinner, climbers rest and prepare mentally and physically for the midnight ascent to the summit.

Day 5: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Around midnight, the summit push begins under the stars. The climb is slow and steady, moving through the cold alpine night toward Stella Point on the crater rim.
As dawn approaches, climbers continue along the ridge to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos and a brief celebration at the summit, the descent begins back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, followed by a longer descent through changing landscapes to Mweka Camp. Dinner is served, and climbers enjoy a well-earned night’s sleep at lower altitude.
Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast, the final descent continues through lush rainforest as the trail leads down to Mweka Gate. Upon arrival, climbers complete park formalities and receive their Kilimanjaro summit certificates.
